Pondering Flooring...

This is a link the the Pergo flooring site, which I have been using just to look at colors. Either white is back or it has never left, but I really like Whiteside Pine. Take a look, then tell me what flooring you are dreaming of and why.

I am partial to cherry with a pretty high gloss finish. My mom had it in kaysville and it was gorgeous. My other half would say slate tile because he likes all the variations of color.

I have always loved a black and white tile kitchen floor, don't know why, but I always come back to it.

Chris just put down cherry wood floors with a walnut border in his entry way and through the kitchen. It sounds really pretty, I can't wait to see it. Kipp also mentioned a floor that seemed to be all the rave during the Parade of Homes up there and it was hand hewn walnut flooring (with no stain on it) I'm so curious to see what that looks like sometime too.

as for me I'd love anything but the neutral brown flooring that we have :) Dark or light or some of each would have been perfect... but not the boring middle :)

I would love to see the hand hewn walnut, that sounds interesting. :)

I haven't really dreamt much of flooring, except that I like hardwood floors.

If I had all the money in the world, I would get a medium warm colour, reclaimed wood from an old barn, that has been polished until it glows. It would be cool to see little nail holes and indications of age.

I don't know if anyone does this kind of thing for flooring, but I once saw a decorating show where there was a guy in Ontario who reclaims wood from old bldgs (mostly farms) and makes them into furniture :)

I'm with Jenni. I have ALWAYS wanted a black and white checkerboard floor in my kitchen, or my front entrance.

I am surprised how much I like the white though.

My husband's aunt paid a load of money on doing her kitchen floor in old fashioned linoleum--like they had 80 years ago. It was gorgeous. It reminded me of going to my grandma's house.
