We had fun spangling yesterday. I had a small helper and so it took most of the day. It took awhile for me to remember where the red, white and blue things were all located. We made paper flowers and a few little treat sacks for neighbors and vets. I also stumbled upon the Taste and Tell blog, which had some fun ideas for 4th of July treats. Check her side bar for more ideas.
When I was 30, my mom asked if I would feel badly if I didn't get an Easter Basket anymore... I said, "YES! :( " So a few years later.. I still get an Easter Basket. OK my mom was smart, the stuffies and "most" of the treats are for the kids, but the basket is for me. It's beautiful. So pretty this picture doesn't do it justice and I LOVE it. Thanks Mom! I love you!

Once there was a man who loved Jesus very much. His name was Nicholas. He did everything he could to follow the words of Jesus. He tried to be kind. He tried to feed and clothe the poor. He looked after the widows and orphans. He visited those who were sick and those who were imprisoned. The more he did these things, the happier he was. The greater his happiness, the more he knew that Jesus was real and that Jesus Christ was his friend.
C & I like to collaborate on cake. This is our Christmas Cake.. with dense, rich and heavy chocolate cake... C's best recipe and touch-of-mint pink frosting.. sprinkles with bits of crushed candy cane. Yum. I'd give you the recipe.. but I can't.. it's top secret. :)
Every change of season I love to visit The Rock Loft in Fruit Heights Utah and see all the fun Holiday decorations.

In my mind, the key to good wrapping is goop. More is more to a Christmas freak and so the more goopy goop you can slop on there the better. The only thing is I get a little boring because I purchase bulk paper from Xpedx and bulk ribbon from Costco so those items last through several Christmases. It does save quite a bit of money to do it this way, but I get paper envy walking through every craft store. I love pretty papers.
