Grandma Rhea's Recipes
If you visit my grandmother, she will make you a delicious, original, and beautiful treat. This is my piece of Strawberry Pudding over Pecan Shortbread Dessert from my visit with Grandma on Saturday.
My cousin has made my Grandma's recipe book available online. So if you love cream and butter, here you are....

Finds...
I was tempted, but couldn't buy one of these in California. Who can lug home a suitcase full of rocks? But, in person these are so beautiful. Some California artist has used copper wire and a bunch of sea polished rocks and chunks of recycled glass to create these "things" I don't really know what they are called, but you hang them outside and they accentuate the sound of the rain. Many of you are tired of the rain, but I love it. I just pretend that I live in Ireland. :) So, I kind of wanted one of these, but didn't have anywhere to hang it so I took a picture instead.. But lovely.. right? Then, there are the new short sleeve Thomas Pink shirts for summer... They are so beautiful. I would never buy a $200 shirt.. but, I love looking at these. They are sooo pretty!

Garden Season...
One of my all time favorite trees. .. Bechtel Crab
In bloom.. Korean Lilacs.. I forget which...
The sweet woodruff is finishing off, but still smells heavenly..
My garden is granny chic :) I love petunias, lilacs, tulips, roses, dahlias, peonies... and I LOVE PINK. This bed doesn't look like much but in July you won't see dirt, it will be a froth of pink.
This Bacopa: Snowstorm Giant Snowflake is something new that I'm trying out in a part of my garden that stays pretty dry no matter what I do. The flowers are supposed to keep coming even when the plants are drought stressed. We'll see. :)
The tomatoes are in.. except the cherry variety. I can almost taste them. Yum. Lots to do in the veggie garden still. We follow the square foot gardening plan and it's beautiful and produces plenty for our family over the summer. We also keep fresh herbs in pots, and they often come back on their own... which is why they are in pots. We don't want a yard full of peppermint as much as I love it.

I'm out only early in the morning putting the Preen down and then going back in. But, I loved being out in the rain today. It smells like heaven and everything is clean and beautiful.

True Colors...
I love true colors and if you ignore the muddy, puttys in the lower left..
the rest are rainbow brights. There are several Benjamin Moore paint choices. Benjamin Moore is my favorite paint because you can't beat them for clear, pure color with no browns or grays dulling the mix. If you want a wall the color of daffodils, raspberries or hyacinths.. you can find it.
Benjamin Moore True Blue (lower right) is the color of my bedroom and I love it.
