She's been decorating.
First she made sure the room had good bones by adding mouldings and trim and then color and light.
And then, she added good anchor pieces. (The art and other minor pieces are still to come. I'll have to take another photo sometime. But, the hard work is done. )Just like it says to do in my favorite decorating book by my favorite decorator..
who also always thinks there should at least be a little yellow in every room.
I think she'd like this one.

I like that part about there being yellow in every room. Never heard it before, but it sounds lovely. Your sister's home is so bright and cheery. I love that chair!
That was a cheery place to look. Your lucky you get to go visit her for sure. I really enjoy yellow too. It is a bright and I sometimes consider it a neutral in ways. Thanks for sharing your sisters place and this book. She is a fantastic designer. I like her as well. Tell your sister I will buy that chair from her on ebay today. I love it.
A beautiful home!
Beautiful! I LOVE the sofa.
Janice.. you would love my sister's house.. She loves blue best and her design has a lot of Scandanavian elements. :)
Oh it looks so nice! Love the big chair and the yellow! I really love the arch and the molding but I am a sucker for white molding!
The yellow is fabulous! What is it called, though? :)
:) sundance!
I almost forgot..Have a wonderful day tomorrow! Hope it is all beautiful!
OK... so what shade YELLOW is that? I am still trying to choose for Megan's room!!!!
I see that the paint is called sundance...what brand?
Benjamin Moore I believe. Benjamin Moore is actually my favorite paint because they have the most true colors.. without gray or brown added.
Gorgeous! I just love the colors!
I love the chair. Gorgeous fabric!
Beautiful Home! I'll have to check out Alexandra Stoddard's decorating book. I really liked her other book. Thanks for sharing!

What a beautiful home!! I've always thought that yellow is a great accent color!! When I was younger I over looked the all important lighting element. It really is one of the basic things you've got to get right to show off whatever your style may be.
Have a great weekend Tiffany!!
This is so amazing... the color I am considering is the Benjamin Moore next to SUNDANCE Yellow... Now that I see it painted on ...I may use SUNDANCE.
